A MADE IN ITALY STORY

ISAF’s story is one of family, passion, and foresight — a story that has grown and evolved in the productive heart of Lombardy.

It is a Made in Italy story within the manufacturing sector that has stood out in the road, rail, and maritime transport markets, offering custom-made doors for every vehicle and every specific need.

Quality, solidity, safety, and an exclusive customer service are the hallmarks of a company that has chosen to carefully preserve specialized craftsmanship, invest in technical and technological innovation, and enhance its engineering department.

The Foundation of ISAF

ISAF was born from the initiative of Giuseppe Sessa and his son Massimo, who in 1964 founded the company to produce windows and locks essential for railway carriages and buses. The first ISAF logo was created.

It was a brilliant intuition, as the industry lacked a strong Made in Italy presence, and the company was immediately able to benefit from the highly skilled workforce of the Varese area and the wider Lombardy region.

In Mornago, ISAF grew by focusing on the careful selection of raw materials and high-precision finishing processes.
Massimo, as a engineer, played a fundamental role in giving the company a highly specialized identity, and employees were continuously trained and involved in the company’s growth.

Within just a few years, ISAF established itself on the market with revolutionary windows for that era, thanks to the use of “DELRIN” molded components — a technique that radically transformed all previous production and economic standards.

1971

The Leadership of Massimo Sessa

In 1971, following the passing of his father Giuseppe, Massimo took over the leadership of the company.
Brilliant and visionary, he understood market needs and expanded the production focus, complementing the historical manufacturing of windows and doors with new solutions for caravans.

1972-1998

Conquering the Market

In the following years, thanks once again to Massimo’s insights and the company’s efficient structure, ISAF began producing automatic folding doors for buses, manufactured with a single (monolithic) extrusion.

The ISAF brand became well-known and firmly established throughout the national market. The company updated its logo and achieved such a strong leadership position that, between 1978 and 1983, it was granted a license by Bode-Wegmann to produce external plug-type automatic doors for intercity and touring coaches.

During the 1980s, this growth further consolidated. The company’s image was refined, expectations of success were surpassed, and expansion became necessary with the construction of new facilities and the installation of additional production lines.

ISAF continued to grow, achieving the goal of offering the body shop industry a complete range of automatic doors capable of solving every construction and production challenge.

We followed progress and the evolution of professional and managerial needs — and thus, ISAF evolved according to the most modern management techniques: EDP, CAD, marketing, production control, organization, and quality assurance.

1999

Quality System Certification

In 1999, ISAF obtained its Quality System Certification, and in 2002, it achieved certification in compliance with the UNI EN ISO 9001:2000 standard.

2007

Powder Coating Plant

In 2007, we set up a powder coating plant with a chromatising pre-treatment process.
In 2018, we implemented an Environmental Management System integrated with our Quality Management System, thus obtaining the UNI EN ISO 14001 certification.
In 2021, we achieved the IATF 16949 certification, which allowed us to strengthen our business relationships with leading companies in the automotive sector.

2019

Appointment of General Manager Gianni Turcatti

In 2019, fifty-five years after the company’s founding, ISAF underwent an important leadership transition.
Massimo Sessa retired, and the position of General Manager was assumed by Gianni Turcatti, his long-time successor, who had been with the company since 1978 and had been involved in every phase of its development and expansion.

2023

The New ISAF Logo Is Born

The ISAF logo as we know it today was introduced in 2023.

2024

New CEO: Engineer Giuliano Didonè

In 2024, ISAF celebrated its 60th anniversary — a significant milestone that inspired a new phase of renewal.

Engineer Giuliano Didonè joined the Board of Directors as the new CEO.
Alongside Didonè and Turcatti, the company’s leadership also includes Maria Rosa Sessa, the founder’s wife.

Our objectives remain ambitious: on one hand, we are looking with interest at opportunities coming from Asia — we are already planning a joint venture in China to provide technical assistance; on the other, we are expanding our range of custom-made Made in Italy doors to meet the needs of the road, rail, and maritime transport sectors.

Certifications

Our certifications are a statement of efficiency and reliability.

At ISAF, we undergo regular inspections by independent third-party ISO auditors and by our clients. The results of these audits are invaluable for consolidating and continuously improving our product and process quality.

We also carry out periodic testing on our doors — even after they have reached full-scale production maturity, and over the years.
These tests represent the value and the seal of our company’s integrity and commitment.
